Conversion of the Pocketbook

Someone once noted that the most sensitive nerve in the human body is the one to the pocketbook! If that is the case, it may be a sign that we have taken ownership of what God has entrusted us to manage.
Martin Luther once said, “There are three conversions in one’s life: the heart, the mind, and the pocketbook.” May we be reminded that God is the Lord of every area of our lives, even, and perhaps especially, our pocketbook. There is a direct correlation between our spiritual lives and our financial lives.
Rob West states, "A heart captivated by Christ values Him above wealth. A renewed mind prioritizes God’s kingdom over worldly gain. When transformed by the Gospel, our finances become tools for worship and service.
Let's ask ourselves, "Has our pocketbook been through a conversion?" If not, may we recognize our need to trust the Provider more, the provisions less, and let our generosity serve as a testimony of our faith!
